Buying a mattress is an investment in your sleep and your health. Here are a few tips to help you make an educated in-store purchase.

• Wear comfortable clothes and budget enough time to make a proper decision. A mattress is a long-term investment - you don't want to hurry and make a rash decision.
• 2Test out the mattress in all your sleeping positions
• Buying a mattress is a long-term commitment, so don't hesitate to lay down on the mattress in all the different sleeping positions that you are accustomed to. If you're with your partner, be sure to try the mattress at the same time. After all, that's how you will be sleeping on it. Be sure to test various mattresses, as the feel and support levels differ from one to another. Take your time and ask the sales associate to give you a minute if need be.
• 3Be sure to buy the right mattress size
• Sleep studies show that we turn between 40-60 times a night. To ensure a quality night's sleep, make sure the bed is wide enough to fit both you and your partner comfortably, allowing room to move freely, so that you don't wake each other.
